Village pub with rooms

EveryVillage Partner

The old coaching inn on the village street, with rooms, breakfast and a quiz on Tuesdays.

About

The Hind's Head is the seventeenth century coaching inn on the village street, listed Grade II, and it's still an inn, with fifteen bedrooms upstairs, so it opens early for breakfast as well as late. There's a dining room, function rooms and private dining for a party. Just north of it is the village lock up, a little eighteenth century brick cell that was last used in 1865. Tuesday night is quiz night.

Venues and community places are listed as EveryVillage partners. We wrote this page ourselves, from information The Hind's Head, Aldermaston and others have published. Compiled 2 October 2026 from the inn's own website (rooms, food, hours and the quiz), Historic England's list entries for the inn (1319502) and the lock up (1117349), read through search results of those pages. Pinned at the grid reference for the inn's list entry, from a mirror of it. If you help run it, send us a correction or ask us to take the page down.
