Queens College Arms, Pamber End

Village pub

The sixteenth century pub on the A340, owned by an Oxford college, with a log fire and a big garden.

About

The Queens College Arms is the pub in Pamber End, on the A340 by Bow Brook, and the name's not a coincidence. Queen's College, Oxford, which owns Pamber Priory up the lane, has owned the pub since the 1960s, and its arms are on the sign out front, which is listed in its own right. The building goes back to the sixteenth century. There's a log fire in winter, a large garden for summer, Sunday roasts, and families and dogs are welcome. It was listed as an Asset of Community Value in 2025.

We wrote this page ourselves, from information Queens College Arms, Pamber End and others have published. Compiled 2 October 2026 from the pub's own website (hours, food and contacts), Historic England's list entry for the inn sign (1166855) and Basingstoke and Deane's decision listing it as an Asset of Community Value, read through search results of those pages. Pinned at the RG26 5QR postcode position rather than the building's own door. If you help run it, send us a correction or ask us to take the page down.
