About Little London
Little London is a hamlet of about a hundred and twenty houses along Silchester Road, in the parish of Pamber, with Pamber Forest at its back. It sits between Tadley and Silchester, about two miles from each, and Bramley's a little further the other way, so most things are a short drive in one of three directions. What's here is the Plough, a cask ale pub that still only takes cash, and St Stephen's Hall, one of the two halls Pamber Parish Council meets in.
The forest is the thing to know about. It's what's left of the medieval royal forest the whole parish once lay inside, five hundred acres now run as a nature reserve and, with Silchester Common, a Site of Special Scientific Interest, and the paths into it start at the edge of the village. Silchester's Roman walls are a couple of miles up the road the other way.
