The Fairground, Mortimer
Recreation ground and village hall
Twenty acres of open ground in the middle of the village, with a hall and a cricket pavilion.
About
The Fairground is the open ground in the middle of Mortimer Common, twenty acres of it opposite the Horse and Groom on The Street. It belongs to a charity, the Stratfield Mortimer Fair Ground Charity, and the parish council looks after it for the village. There is a play and recreation area, a grazing area and a wildlife corridor between the two, and on it stand the Fairground Hall and the cricket pavilion. The hall and the ground can both be hired through the parish council, and from October 2026 the hall holds the monthly village market.
